What is the difference between a stabiliser link and a stabiliser bushing? The stabiliser link is a rigid rod with ball joints that connects the anti-roll bar to the suspension. The bushing is a rubber or polyurethane mount that secures the anti-roll bar to the body — they are separate parts in different locations.

What symptoms indicate a worn stabiliser link? A clunking or rattling noise over bumps and increased body roll in corners are the most common signs. A worn link should be inspected on a lift to confirm the fault, as bushings or shock absorbers may cause similar symptoms.

Should stabiliser links be replaced in pairs? Most manufacturers recommend replacing both sides simultaneously, particularly above 100,000 km, to maintain even suspension behaviour.
